0 Hotel Review: Cyberview Resort & Spa

There are about three pools at Cyberview Resort & Spa. But we prefer the more private pool at Sembunyi Spa.

“Finally, I’m going on a holiday!” I gushed to a colleague.

“Oh, good! Where are you going? Thailand? Australia?”

“Cyberjaya!”

He looked at me blankly.

“Cyberview Resort! And I got my chalet at 75% off too!”

Another blank look.

So, okay. Cyberjaya isn’t the Destination to Die For when it comes to vacations. But I was sold on Cyberview Resort & Spa when I saw gorgeous photos of their gardens and swimming pools. I was also won over by the fact that it’ll only take me a half an hour drive to get there.

Initially my best friend and I toyed with the idea of flying off to Bangkok, but the thought of rushing to the airport and then battling Bangkok’s notorious jams and then rushing back to the airport didn’t appeal to me. I’ve had a tough few months recently and wasn’t in the mood for travel stress or to visit touristy landmarks or shop for, well, anything.

Then we thought, why not holiday in Port Dickson? I had a great time at Avilion the last time. However, it’s the Merdeka weekend and I do not relish battling the jams getting there and back. Plus, the place was fully booked.

What I wanted to do was have a fuss-free holiday where I can park my brain somewhere and to sleep and read in beautiful surroundings.

Regular readers know that I’m a huge fan of staycations. They have a lot of benefits and I’ve done a number of them — most of them in Airbnbs. But Cyberview Resort has become, to me, the perfect place to have a quick getaway.

Lush surroundings

We were impressed with Cyberview Resort & Spa the moment we drove through its front gates. This resort definitely takes their landscaping seriously.

The place has numerous pools, fountains and gardens dotting the numerous chalets around the area.

To our delight, our Deluxe Chalet is located right in front of a lake that has fountains splashing right in front of our verandah. The verandah became our No.1 favourite place to be.

On the second day we were there, it rained heavily in the evening and we opened the glass sliding doors wide open to let the cool breeze in and to listen to the pitter patter of raindrops on the lake as we read in the living room.

Cyberview Resort

The chalet’s furnishings may be a bit dated, but we think that they are “classic”. Besides, with lovely surroundings like these, we would be spending most of our time outside! Our chalet comes with a kitchen, a king-size four poster bed, a study table — all made from sturdy wood. We only had a rain shower in our bathroom, but it was good enough.

I think our chalet is in the best spot in the resort. Many of the chalets surround the hotel’s community areas. I suppose it’s great for those who like amenities nearby, but I liked the peace and quiet that we enjoyed at our chalet.

Sembunyi Spa

The waiting area of the Sembunyi spa. Wafts of ginger scent filled this room ... ah.

Our chalet was also right next Sembunyi Spa. Guests are allowed to use the jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and the swimming pool free. (Places like these make me wish I have my own sauna at home, sometimes!!)

The hotel has another three pools, which are located at the heart of the resort, but we preferred the slim swimming pool (below pic) at the spa because it was more private. I read a book by that lovely, dimunitive pool then had a swim in its warm waters. Then, I took a dip in the jacuzzi which was a few steps away.

Now, that jacuzzi isn’t an itty bitty little tub. It’s a huge, bubbling pool with waterfalls. Lovely! And be sure to try the sauna and steam room too.

On our last day at the resort, both of us had a massage. I took a 60-minute basic massage (about RM190 inclusive of taxes). The masseuse was really good and very systematic, asking me if she was giving the right pressure and all. This was a relief to me because my last experience at a cheap spa was nightmarish – the masseuse ended up injuring me when he yanked my arm behind me without warning!

So, yes, the masseuse here are very well trained.

Food at Cyberview

Be sure to get ready to eat, because, boy will you eat yourself silly here!

Our rooms came with buffet breakfast and we fully took advantage of that. The night before was Merdeka day and the kitchen actually prepared Merdeka-themed cakes!

Verandah restaurant is where all the buffets are held. There’s also the Chinese restaurant Xing Zhu and the Italian restaurant, Bistro Cascata. There are also numerous bars such as Karma Bar & Lounge (where there are live performances) and Chillax Pool Bar.

Of all the meals we had, the buffet at Cascata was simply awesome. Fresh grilled seafood, rosemary and garlic-infused leg of lamb, grilled prawns and squid, pasta and pizza galore.

Perfect Parting

We parted ways with Cyberview sadly after a wonderful massage at Sembunyi. Can’t we live here forever?

I’ve never had a more relaxing holiday. While my brother complained of a 4-5 hour traffic crawl from Malacca, we only took 40minutes to get back to Puchong – not a jam in sight.

All in all, if you want a quick, easy escape from the city Cyberview Resort is highly recommended. My friend and I really, really enjoyed our time there. I had the best sleep ever!

I know I’ll be coming back to this resort for a writing retreat or two!

Cyberview Resort & Spa is located at The Lodge, Persiaran Multimedia, Cyber 7, 63000 Cyberjaya, Selangor.
